Disco

Disco is a disc (CD, DVD and flavour variations) burning application for Mac OS X. It costs money (USD 30 right now) and applies a lot of flashiness to the burning process while keeping the actual work you do as simple as possible. The stated goal was to take the rather dull process of burning data and make it something you want to do because it's fun.

So, what does it look like?

Why, like this.

Burning with Disco

Yep, it has hardware-accelerated smoke and a highly non-standard GUI. Disco has drawn some critcism for this, being needlessly flashy, looking odd and non-standard and similar things. And I guess it's all kind of true. But in my opinion it actually does what it intended very well. I simply enjoy burning discs with it. And if you don't like it, there are myriad other excellent ways to get a disc burned, many of which don't enable you to blow into the microphone to alter their smoke.

Myself, I wouldn't mind more glitz like this as long as everything underneath is also smooth and well-working.
