This is my favourite piece of furniture/decoration right now, and possibly ever.

Lizard lamp

Neat, I say. It's about 50 centimeters from the top ... foot to the end of the tail, made of metal and hangs on the wall on one single hook. Martin noted the satisfying lack of cables, thanks to the use of a candle as a light source. There were larger versions too, which used bulbs for light, but this felt easier/safer to start with. You don't want to purchase a metre-long lizard only to realize you've got nowhere to place it.

We purchased it yesterday in Malmö, a spur of the moment purchase while we were in a store to buy a lamp Ellen had spotted a while ago but not wanted to get without me seeing it first.

After that we drove off to IKEA and spent a few hours and thousand crowns buying various things.

So now we have even more things for which we need to drill in those darn concrete walls.

Sigh.

No, of course it's not really bad to do drilling. But it sure isn't something we do for fun either.

Darn nice when it's done though.

On the geekier side of things I taped together my first folder action a while ago. So whenever I add an image to my local image folder a script kicks in and uploads it to the site's image folder. Better living through automation!

Because I don't use bookmarks, my reading up on folder actions and Automator yielded two useful sites I've kept open in tabs for a week or so, unable to decide where to save them. I'll add them to the site's links right now and be done with them. That's another area I could probably do with some automation/new software. I don't want bookmarks in one browser and then suddenly need them in another. URLWell is nice and simple, but it could do with some more sorting and labeling options. We'll see, some day ...

To wrap up, how about a flashy faucet I spotted this week?
