Okay, now it's 13:13. I'm positioned at dad's place, I've got GBP 200 and a birthday present for said dad (who according to popular lore is born on May 16th) in my backpack and I've just written another long note on Martin's noteboard.
Once again I noticed how much easier it seems to be for me to go on sometimes lengthy rants on his noteboard than for me to do the same here. Even with all this practise there's still a gap between my writing abilities in Swedish and in English. But then that's no surprise, and I don't mind that much either. It's nice in a way to see the differences in style between English and Swedish, and I think the only way to make my English get on level or above the level of my Swedish would be to be in an environment where I didn't use my Swedish at all. And that would inevitably lower my Swedish level at least to some extent, which I don't really want.
Come to think of it, in some ways my written Swedish may have dropped over the last few years. When it comes to the amount of writing in Swedish I peaked somewhere 1996-7 or so. Since then English has been on a sharp increase mostly associated with the Coming of the Internet, and all it has brought in the way of email, homesites and girlfriends halfway around the globe.
Disclaimer: the above isn't a complaint or some kind of sad nostalgic outbreak. It's just stating the facts, I like where I am now, being able to express what I want at a level I'm happy with in both languages. What can be added is that I'd like to do more writing overall, getting back to writing fiction again would be great fun! I think getting back into reading more fiction again could help too ...

Oh, and this evening I'm going to see this year's edition of Stjärnparaden (see link top left), featuring none other than Gustav in a main role! Mom called last night and flooded me with positive comments, but she's pretty biased. Then again, I guess that goes for me too :-) ... I'm looking forward to it, that's for sure!
