So Universal gets paid a dollar on each Zune sold. And their CEO said they might try and get the same deal from Apple. If they do try that I hope it all goes exactly as Gruber imagines it, but I wonder if they'd really have the guts to try.

I kind of hope they do, and that they get severely burned for it.

In more concrete news Niclas has become a G4 Cube owner while I've spent some time positively radiating "Web 2.0".

Anyone else hate that expression?

In any case, what I did was whip up the beginnings of a spreadsheet-like web interface. Click a cell, edit, hit enter. As soon as I add in a bit of keyboard navigation it'll really start to feel fancy.

(Oh, and you can't actually do anything with the edited cells. But that's a bonus, right? It's neat!)

Real life stuff?

Well, I've started cleaning out some small amounts of unused stuff ("trash" I believe some would call it) here and there. The main result so far is that the floor in the hall houses a heap of clothes I mean to throw away or donate to noble causes, but the unofficial goal is to have a good amount of stuff thrown out and/or packed away before Christmas. There will hopefully be a move not too long after that, so I figured I might as well start when the urge is here.

Thoght of another Christmas present today as well. So I've finished buying for one person, have decent ideas for four and still need to think of something for seven. Which sounds like a lot, but most of them aren't pressing in any way. More like two plus five really.
