Denmark, outdoors

The weekend's excursion target: Copenhagen, Denmark.

Other people went to Barcelona, Spain, all of a sudden. Reports from that direction are still very sparse but expected to be fleshed out within 24 hours.

The photo, luckily, doesn't really reflect the dominant elements of the trip. Fun, amusement parks, good company, great weather, a vegetarian buffet, ice cream and hordes of tourists all seem somehow lacking in the final image. Pictures saying more than a thousand words, bah ...

Speaking of pictures, the amusement park in question was Tivoli and the highest point of the day was their new attraction Himmelskibet, apparantly the tallest carousel in the world. We rode it as one of the first rides of the day while lines were blissfully short. I used to suffer a bit from vertigo when I was small. Swinging around in a small chair 80 meters above ground brought back that kind of feelings for the first time since I'm-not-sure-when. A real thrill in short.

Himmelskibet, on hold

And no less thrilling from the fact that they still (it opened in May) seem to have problems getting people down every now and then.

From the room of a friend of a friend.

Three neatly labeled boxes, the two first stacked on top of the larger third one.

"Sewing things"

"Desk things"

"Dog skeleton"

It's refreshing to meet people with different interests.

The End

I've had a week off and a great time pretty much all of it. But early tomorrow it's back to regular programming for a few more weeks. I have a feeling they'll pass rather fast, but we'll see.

(Well I'll be ... this seems to be the 800th page on the site.)
