Of course, I had to try out installing Windows as well. I even went and slipstreamed myself a suitable install disc to pass time the night before I got the computer.
Wonder why the firmware update wasn't actually included on the Boot Camp disk image? Had to go find the download separately.
Loading up files at the beginning of XP installation took longer than I remember it doing on other computers. After that things seemed to run normally.
Yep, everything installed without a hitch, including drivers for various Apple components. The actual driver installer (the program itself) was pretty ugly though. Basically it threw up a window with a filled progress bar and a message saying something like "installing components" and then ran the separate installers for each component (airport, display and so on) in the background. And the first message giving any indication that the computer hadn't in fact locked up was a warning about the driver (understandably, I guess) not being signed. After that various windows flashed by, mostly just showing up in briefly in the task bar. Nice of them to automate the process, but no points for presentation.
