I surf too much.

Otherwise, things are great, if a little empty.

Yesterday Bonnie left after spending almost two weeks here (some of it, although much less than most other people would have, right here on this very sofa), and during the weekend Ellen paid a visit too.

And now everyone's suddenly left again, as suddenly as they came.

I'm not sad or anything about it, it's just a marked difference. Especially since both of them brought me along to see various people they know around here, so I've met a bunch of new people too and been social more often than in a long while. Fun all round!

But back to the start point. Instead of surfing aimlessly for hours after getting home I got myself together, made some tea and sandwiches, watched the NerdTV interview with Dan Bricklin and actually came up with a small application I'd like to have and which feels highly doable to me.

And I haven't wandered off through the web, checking to see if anyone else has made the app already, inevitably getting lost in the process.

I even googled for coding information without getting sidetracked. Have sketched on interface and inner workings on paper, in text file and Interface Builder.

Got to keep going in this direction. There's much time to be won back from the Slashdot -> MacSlash -> DrunkenBlog -> whatever -> whatever2 ... whatever-n-circle-surfs. More focus and creativity to the people!

Plus I've actually made use of the portability of Pomum to do all this nicely reclined in/on aforementioned sofa instead of hunched over by the desk.
