So, today I did, and just look at what happened! Here I am, in place, fully changed with another ten minutes before I begin, and I didn't even get warm getting here! Had to be intentionally slow to take even 15 minutes getting here. Hate when people trick me like this ...
Workday today, making up for time lost to a certain stag party ...
Someone had forgotten to inform the guy who normally has the shift though, so he got a very short workday. I could have lived with just skipping one work shift of course, but nobody informed me until he'd already gone home :-) ...
So, the shift today was from 09:00 to 15:30 instead of from 11:00 to 18:30. Seems like a much more relaxed shift in all (if today's any indication). No customer rush when you're about to go home, and an hour shorter than my usual shift as well. The downside is that it pays much less, with one hour less and much more of it being before noon, when the real overtime compensation kicks in on Saturdays. So I still like my usual time better, based on purely economical grounds :-) ... But getting home on time at 15:30 is really great!
