I did actually go back to the image I posted yesterday! Cleaned up most of the lines, so it should resize much more nicely now, and also tried to add some shading and details, mostly to the eyes and face. It's not looking worse at least.
Not by much anyway ...
I'll post an updated version next time I create smaller versions from the Photoshop file. I'll probably try doing something more with at least the hair and the clothes first. Perhaps something more for background as well, although I'm not sure what. I feel like white is nice, but that doesn't mean something else couldn't surprise me.
The day's other drawing exercise happened at work, so I don't have any proof of it either. Checkout number three now has a rather zoned-out-looking Totoro (think of the bus stop, he's got a leaf on his head too) wearing a work shirt added to its collection of little drawings. I put up the first image during the week before Christmas, a Helm's Deep-ish illustration of the shopping situation I expected during the week. Then during an evening on the first week of the new year things were so calm I felt alone, forgot how to form complete sentences and did two drawings of similarily bored checkout staff to keep the first one company. After that someone commented "I wonder what will come next week" ... And here we are, the trend continuing through week four. Let's see what runs out first, my motivation or the available space!
And there it's tomorrow already. Right then, signing off and heading to bed ...
