It's that time of the year again. It's the day of Steve Jobs' keynote on MacWorld Expo, one and a half hour every Mac user hopes will bless them with the Next Insanely Great Thing. Apple likes to surprise announce things (then take a few months to actually deliver them) which makes expectations even higher and causes a ton of rumors. Before recent Apple announcements the rumors have been quite accurate, and there have been a lot of interesting ones before this one, but it's still fun to see iSteve performing before an audience of believers. So you want to see the keynote.

There are only a couple of small snags. First, I'm not there. But no worries, they put it up as a video stream on the web! But not right away, no no. They take a couple of hours to do their compression thing or whatever. The latest guesstimates place the publication of the stream somewhere in the middle of the night to Wednesday Swedish time. The keynote itself begins at 18:00 Swedish time, and as it happens all sites vaguely interested in Macs will explode with all the latest announcements.

So things can get a bit tricky if I want to see the stream without knowing the exact contents beforehand. I think I've decided to ignore all media from the start of the keynote and then watch the (by then hopefully smooth and stable) stream after I get up Wednesday morning. But I'm a weak, curious human mind ...

By the way, I did get two out of three things done yesterday. Food got purchased and websites got prototyped. Drawings only got opened though, but that was less important in any case.

So, what to aim for today?

I've decided to try and keep from reading anything until I've seen the keynote. Since things are scheduled to kick off in about 30 minutes it might be time to retire from the net for the evening. I've got a good movie and Zork Grand Inquisitor (which is just copying its entirety to my hard drive thanks to a wonderful script I found) to pass the time. I'll comment later, be sure of that!

Anyone trying to ruin my fun by sending reports will of course be brutally ... despised. Totemized, if I could arrange it.
