Today I've got a good amount of ... Christmas related investments, right, done. Embarassingly, I also got quite a bit of stuff that can't really be intended for anyone but me without some rather dangerous stretches of imagination. Still, it could theoretically be given to someone, so I don't think I'll say what it is just yet. Got to keep the facade.

While out shopping I was waiting in line in a small store and happened to spot a girl with iPod headphones in her ears. It's only about the third person I've seen in this town with an iPod, so I still find it fun to spot another user. But then I started wondering; what is really the wierder part?

The fact that there were two iPod users waiting in the same short line in the same small store in the same small town?

Or the fact that I notice and think about such a thing?

It's not as if it has to mean any damn thing at all that two people happen to have the same brand of mp3 player. But that's what liking a brand (for whatever reasons, good or not) does. You start thinking it means something, that it says things about the users. For all I know, that girl may have taken that iPod as a trophy from the pocket of a man she'd just beheaded as part of a contract killing.

She might even be listening to bad music on it.

Awareness is the first step to being cured :-) ...

And now for something completely different. With the list of better things to do being what it is (it's freaking endless, I tell you!), why would someone want to spill a mix of coffee and hot cocoa on their desk?

I have no idea, but I think it's almost scary how well my Wacom tablet fits in the plate rack.
