Saturday. Celebrating with a Jolt. That's just right for my energy level too, after two hours more work than expected. More well-paying hours are nice of course, but I felt like a markedly less suitable person for customer relations after the expected shift. Seemed like every other person for the last two hours handed over a 1000 crown bill, wanted 400 crowns extra from their card or didn't have the faintest idea how the conveyor belt and its sensors worked. Plus my hands went totally dry and crispy. And I really mean that, I even had a couple of cracks that started bleeding. I always thought the handcream we have at work was rather nice, but now I'm starting to wonder. Maybe it just dries up too quicly. I'll bring my own next time I work just to check, I imagine the difference to be pretty clear.
Of course, this sould be nothing compared to the fun we'll all have the days right before Christmas. If the schedule stays roughly the same as usual I'll be working both the 22nd and the 23rd (around here Christmas Eve is the day of celebration and presents). If anything at all is right in the universe those days should be very much like Helm's Deep, only the 10000 orcs will have overloaded shopping carts instead of swords.
I just hope they won't all want change.
