I'm still without an internet connection at home. In fact, I don't even have an ETA on one yet. All I have is the knowledge that I can, in fact, get the connection I want from the company that I want, and that I have sent in application information. So I'm just sitting around waiting like a good boy, and keep dropping by friends and family to make use of their connections every now and then (hi dad!).
In all, the absence doesn't seem to do me any harm. I remember it as being much more difficult to live with back when I moved to my own place for the first time. Now I easily get by with some email checking and web browsing every other day.
And I can fit a great deal more Xbox gaming into my life this way ... At this rate, even with my rather leisurly playing style and pace, Ninja Gaiden might be finished any week now! Then I'm going to sink my teeth seriously into Knights of the Old Republic, and after that Halo 2 is probably out already ... All of which, combined with my current lack of connection, isn't doing my Crimson Skies skills any good at all ...
I have written some pieces now and then as well, stuff of just the kind that goes nicely on a site like this. A nice little library of random writings is once again building up on my hard drive, and I think the connectionlessness has been beneficial for this too. I intend to put them up some time now, then, or later. But definitely eventually.
I also feel that I do, in fact, have a life, which is really great. Things are good!
So, what it all boils down to, I suppose, is that I should surf less in the future.
