I'm baaack! Missed me?
As some of my friends have noticed, bjoreman.com took a weekend off. The reason was the classic forgotten renewal fee for the domain name. If I was ever informed of the fact that the domain payments were separate from the webhosting payments I've sure pused that information away quite thoroughly. You'd think they'd at least send me a polite email informing me that my domain was expiring and hint at how to renew it, but no. I had to correspond with support for a while and make some own conclusions to completely grasp the problem. I especially liked the part where they said they'd inform the sales department so they could push control of the domain to me. Then they added that oh, the sales department had the weekend off, and please use this IP number in the meantime, thank you.
Sometimes I wish I was a rich company with a lot of weight to throw around.
Anyway, at the time of writing things have been sorted out and everyone should be able to find this place as usual shortly.
Right, with the fee now paid for two more years, what are my chances of remembering the renewal next time?
Cool! They listen! They just mailed me saying they'll make sure to clarify the situation (that domain fees and payments are separate) on their pages! A win for (decently) polite and constructive ways of expressing discontent!
