No, I still don't feel disappointed. The Wachowskis didn't do anything stupid, but I feel they could have done even more given more time. The film feels quite focused and held together. It doesn't miss anything or drop any threads, but keeps completely from creating anything it doesn't have time to handle. It would have been interesting to find out more about the Train Man, the Merovingian and the twins and of course have Bane do more interesting things, but the film decided not to make these things happen. Doesn't feel like missed opportunities, just possibilities they decided against. So it's fine with me.
Someone I know commented that the film was good up until the last comment. That, to me, says much more about the person's taste in endings than the ending quality. It's not sugar sweet, but it still feels like a proper and good ending and doesn't in my eyes ruin the victory at all.
I finished watching less than four hours ago, so I won't say everything's sunk in yet. But it works, and I'm curious about seeing the two films back to back some day. I have a feeling they can work even better then.
It's the least interesting of the three because it doesn't throw in anything new and revolutionary toward the end. Revolutions "just" brings it all to a logical conclusion. But where's the shame in that?
Oh, are people being upset because things aren't enough up-front once again? Slightly open to interpretation, and a bunch of people go all indignated, thinking it's all lame and dropped ideas?
