The R310 was my first mobile, an early birthday present in 2001 with the motivation that I could use a phone when going to Hong Kong.
The R310 looked pretty bulky in 2001 and it hasn't exactly shrunk since then. You don't forget you've got it in your pocket. But it is just as rugged as it's made out to be, which means I've never had any worries at all about bringing it anywhere, giving it to anyone (like one-year olds looking for a temporary chewing toy) or dropping it both accidentaly and on purpose. In this way it's possibly the best phone for me. It's kept going perfectly all the time, but when the opportunity to upgrade to a T68 cheaply I didn't hesitate. See that page for more about that.
