Netscape is pretty nice, I've never thought anything else (I hope, otherwise I'm contradicting myself here ...). But apart from sometime in the dark past, like versions 2 or 3 of the Two Big, it's never really been my primary browser. Once Internet Explorer 4 showed up and I got it installed, and not yet having discovered reasons to dislike Microsoft stuff, it seemed difficult to motivate Netscape, especially not since it loaded much slower and most sites seemed designed for IE anyway.
The world moved on, the world wide web spun another yard, and the browsers went through more versions. Opera matured and eventually took over from IE as my primary browser. Netscape came up to version 6 and suddenly became a very pretty browser to look at. Nope, it still isn't my primary browser, Opera can't be beaten without mouse gestures and tabs, but I like using Netscape every now and then (and keep it updated of course!).
And then there's of course Mozilla, the completely free browser based on the Netscape HTML engine. That one sees some more use, being very available and up-to-date in a wide variety of operating systems. But then, so is Opera so I tend to stick to it as often as I can. Whenever there's some page Opera doesn't like for some reason though, Mozilla comes out and, sometimes, not always, saves the day.
So, I kind of like Netscape, certainly don't dislike it. It's just that there's always been a nicer alternative available ...
