On computers I've been using there have been a fair share of different problems and instabilities. But tonight when I watched, more or less unable to help, dad fighting his laptop and seemingly unintuitive camera software I got a real flash of insight. Not only was Windows acting slow, the wireless mouse also decided to give up without notice, and as I mentioned the camera's software didn't seem to do what it was supposed to do either. Somehow it struck me that this is the kind of situation you can sell Macs on. I don't know why the insight felt so clear just then, but it sure did. A salesman could have made a quick pitch right there and bagged a deal, I'm quite sure of it.
I know, it sounds like I'm turning into a total Mac disciple at the speed of light. I've got to get myself together or I'll go really blind some day soon ... Most dangerous of all (if that's the perspective we're taking here) I don't see anyhing bad about it ... And reallly, comparing one week of PowerBook experience with a Dell laptop only updated when I drop by and do so, used for months mainly by teenagers surfing (through IE of course) and chatting cluelessly must be about as unfair as it gets. I also realized that it's not all Windows' (or Microsoft, or IE or whatever other level you like to put the burden on) fault either. If Macs were the dominating computers we'd sure as hell have a big load of malware, spyware, ads and other Bad Karma for them.
