In Wag the Dog (great film by the way) a war is faked to cover up for the ... sexual mistakes ... of the US president. From that viewpoint, one wonders what kind of deep shit CowboyBush has got himself in, needing to start a real war to cover up. Doing so against the will of quite a lot of people, and against international laws as well, there's got to be a personal problem of historical proportions going on. Or maybe it's just the advisors being in power and the head being incompetent? That wouldn't feel too far from Wag the Dog either ...

I wonder, when will the US open up to arms inspectors and allow itself to be disarmed? Just imagine what benefits to the world (not to mention US) economy cutting down that military complex of theirs could bring! How much beneficial science could be done for all the weapons money? How much social security, education and foreign aid? And how much more efficient and non-offensive would that be for US diplomacy? How many people would carry a grudge against a peaceful superpower that used aid and diplomacy instead of MOAB? Doesn't seem like the most likely way to attract terrorists if you ask me ...

Okay, enough ranting for one day ...
