Today, January 15th 2003, I finished the last stage of Stuntman, meaning Henrik and I are finally done with the game (except the odd Speed Test and 100% completions that I'm leaving to him). Single-minded stubbornness is the one and only thing that has driven us to do this, and any feel I have after this is mostly:
"Ah! Finally we can put this away and play something nicer!"
Sounds a bit harsh, but it's true. I really don't like leaving games unfinished so there's no way I could give up this close to the goal. I guess the game designers did something right in getting me stuck like this, but I'd sure have liked to get stuck in a less frustrating game. It's not a game I would have bought, and it doesn't make me feel interested in getting more Reflections games either. I'll play, and keep pushing until someone finishes it, if Henrik gets them (and he does), but I won't invest in them myself. Too much frustration to be worth it.
Okay, of course it isn't a strictly bad game. It's just too damn strict and unforgiving. No wonder there are so many used copies being sold in stores, I bet most people give up around the second film, tops. And the load times probably do matter a bit as well, although I don't actively get annoyed by them while playing. They are pretty darn long for just restarting a stage ...
