Feels less than the first one, so far. Only once to three or four times yet. Feels like much did stick better as well.
Cool walking ahead of some people who hadn't read the books on the way home. By the sound they may not have read many books at all. Talk about widening the audience of Tolkien! Their talk just made me want to turn around and tell them there are some bad guys left to kill.
What would Gimli think of being made into a comic relief like this? Maybe Tolkien wouldn't have minded all that much ... I wonder if there will be more on Gimli and Legolas' friendship in the extended version?

The trick of cutting out stuff from the books to make more room but still throw in new things somehow keeps surprising me. Not sure why, but of course it's a good thing in many ways. More reverence (as opposed to just love) of the books wouldn't have done any good.
