I had one of those too rare moments today. Those when I really feel present; perfectly content in the here and now with no urge to do anything else or be anywhere else.
I was waiting for a friend to arrive by bus. I was standing in a comfortable spot in the sun. A slight bit of chilly wind was blowing, but not enough to make it uncomfortable to stand, eyes closed, facing the sun in a good place.
I had just found out that the bus would arrive in about fifteen minutes.
Realizing I had nothing obvious to do with a period of time like that, I stayed put.
Standing by a bend in the road,
facing the sun,
eyes closed,
feeling a slight breeze every now and then.
Hearing cars and people pass by ,
feeling the sun on my face,
hearing the birds chirping.
I thought that, somehow, it felt like being a child again. Being able to just take in the surroundings, content and fulfilled by what is right here.
It is good to be.
