Adidas adipure - the end(?)

Good things come not only to those who wait, but also to an end.

Unfortunately, the end to my adipure love story came much too quickly and rather definitely.

What happened was eminently simple: they wore out. During my last few runs I noticed a rather large blister forming (and breaking) on the front of the second toe on my right foot. After my last run I suddenly noticed the rather obvious reason for the wear on my toe: the toe of the shoe had a hole straight through. The lower front part of the toe had a very clean angled wear, a look almost as if it had been sandpapered down. This was the only toe to be worn straight through, but on closer inspection the others showed exactly the same type of wear progressing.

Perhaps this is what marks the shoe as being aimed toward indoor training rather than running? The thing is, the actual sole material, the black rubbery one, looks to my unprofessional eyes to be holding up just like it should. But that material ends too far from the edge of each toe, which in turn means that on each and every step I was pushing away with part of my weight on the much less resistant material of the top part of the shoe.

It is all a great pity, because as I have said many times in many places I really loved running in my adipures. But if they last me less than 300 kilometers there is just no way they are worth the money.

On the plus side, I get to try more exciting minimalist-type shoes this way! On to the Merrell trail glove!
