Typing for the very first time with my Ipad supported on a Compass stand. It does feel good, I think we will become very good friends, but on this table and position I feel like the pad ends up a tad too high in relation to my hands and arms.
It has been a great weekend, well used and also kind of sleepless. I spent my Friday night putting together the skeleton for my next IOS project, drinking tea and eating large amounts of cinnamon rolls. Then I retreated into my wonderfully cool bedroom for a good night's sleep and … slept really poorly, for some reason. I went to bed later than on weekdays yet woke up at my normal time, tired yet feeling unable to sleep more. So up I went, tired but not grumpy, and kept myself busy until eleven when A showed up in his car. Off we went, in fantastic sunny autumn weather, spending the drive down to Lund chatting about gadgets, toys and places to live.
And then, there was Arkham horror.
And we all know how much food, drink, candy and snacks that means. We saved Arkham twice and had just as great a time as always. A and I need to set up a board gaming group around here soon, gaming is just too much fun to do as rarely as we have recently.
Then I spent the night on Martin's couch, sleeping as well as can be hoped for when full, sleeping on a much narrower space than you are used to and when there are no blinds to keep light out.
It was well into the afternoon before I started feeling hungry in any serious way, breakfast and two pod-based cups of coffee easily keeping me going.
And no, I still have no real understanding for people choosing to spend the amount of money asked for all those pod-based coffee makers and their supplies. The brew quality is just not worth it.
Example: Anna and I made a cup each after I got home. Because I broke my french press while washing up the other day, we boiled water and poured it over coffee in a filter right over the cups. A poorer man's coffee maker if you will. This, too, produced more appealing coffee than any pod-based cup I have had.
I think I am getting used to the Compass angle and height now. We are friends, all right.
A new week is coming up. If nothing completely out of order happens, Thursday will see the very first meeting of Cocoaheads' Gothenburg chapter. Hopefully a great time for all, take a look at Cocoaheads' site and/or send me a message if you feel like attending!
