I do writings aplenty, more or less every day, I think. Yet recently very little seems to have ended up here. Just part of the normal flow I guess.
I have been following the aftermath of Sunday's election much more closely than I would ever have guessed, first becoming worried about Sverigedemokraterna (a right-wing party opposed to immigration) getting so many seats, then slipping into general news-reload mode waiting for more on the unfolding saga of vote counts and recounts, hoping along with roughly half the population that the alliance will finally win majority. in a way, though, It would be exciting if they do not. I would like to see what kind of coalition we might end up with if they try to make a deal in order to secure Sverigedemokraterna get no say at all.
Also, the whole "keep them out at any cost"-thing is starting to look really bad in itself. I am totally opposed to Sverigedemokraterna, but they were properly elected and should be defeated by debate, by making voters see that they should make a different choice next time. The seeming current strategy of trying to ignore them can only backfire more the longer it is tried.
Ah well, without immigration this country would be dead. This little political situation will sort itself out. We just have to make sure it is not the start of Sweden becoming a colder, less inviting place for much-needed immigrants and other outside influences.
That said, I am off to bed.
Or, to be more precise, I am shuffling my Ipad and various other things out of the bed I am already in, turning off the light and turning around.
