Yesterday there was no code at all, instead I was out and about with friends. I did think and talk about code, but I wrote none of my own.
Today, I am on a train and have gone through ruby-lang.org's "Ruby in twenty minutes" tutorial. Good clean fun on a Sunday.
I have read up on Ruby before, and dipped very minor parts of toes into the language by modifying code to bend Sproutcore's build tools somewhat to my will, but this is the first time I have actually written something which even compiles. I think irb was new territory to me as well. So, baby steps taken, what is next? Perhaps converting something I have written in another language to Ruby? Revisiting Erlang? A bit of Cocoa? We will see what the future holds.
