I have been busy at work, making progress I keep wishing was slightly faster and came slightly easier, all week. I guess it's pretty good when you're mostly frustrated by the pace at which you move forward, rather than being stuck in the same spot, doing the wrong thing, or doing something you don't want to be doing.

I feel like I've been deep down in work all week, resurfacing mostly for sleep
and
brief moments
of wondering
just where the evening went.

Yeah, it's been a good week, and it's going to be a good weekend too.

And now (or, to be truthful, just before) ...

Junk food!

My dinner tonight: rice, yoghurt sauces (yoghurt mixed with curry and bell pepper powder respectively), two kinds of cheap cola and a generous helping of cheap chicken nuggets. Delicious in its genre, if I may say so.

I'm contemplating following it up with cheap and cheerful ice cream ...

... but I don't think I have too much space to fill with ice cream yet.

And now I'm giving Textcast a go. It's an application made for converting text into audio and getting it into Itunes, basically turning your texts into podcast episodes. I'm curious if it'd be a nice and workable way for me to take in some more information when, like now, my eyes feel a bit tired from all the day's screen time. I'm trying it out by converting the book Practical common lisp.

It's kind of fun to see both processors utilized to 100% as two processes chew through the chapters and turn them into audio.

I haven't seen the result in Itunes yet, but there doesn't seem to be much support for batches of files. You're meant to work like podcasts, dropping in new texts and having them appear as the latest item in the cast. You can also import RSS feeds straight into Textcast, which seems like a fun idea. Perhaps that'd be a fun way to take in all those feeds I never subscribe to nowadays because they contain lots of short posts on relatively low-interest topics. In audio, that could be kind of like listening to news ... perhaps.

Enough speculation. I'm eating ice cream and will say more when I've actually tried it a bit.
