Old cheap, meet new cheap

Old cheap, and breaking, controller on top, new cheap on bottom.

I have owned a really cheap Gamecube controller for a while, intended both for the Gamecube games I own, but also for Mario Kart Wii, for which the Gamecube control scheme is almost embarrasingly better than the promoted, wheel-waving. Anyway, the König gaming device was nothing but disappointment, soon starting to register leftward input when there was none thus making itself useless. I replaced it only to have the second one develop the same problem after only a few races. So, I'll never buy anything from König again.

Today I surprisingly came across the replacement, a Logic3 branded controller in original (and bulletproof) original packaging, in one of Lund's larger second hand stores. At the massive expense of seventy-five crowns I figured it was at least worth a shot. The brand name felt remotely familiar, so I thought there was some hope of better quality.

Despite having a similar cheap feel to it (plus those turbo buttons cheap brands see fit to include), and despite the quantity-over-similarity decision to put the z button on both sides of the controller, initial karting has given a positive impression.

I'm now off to do more thorough testing.

As soon as my site comes back up and allows me to post this anyway ...
