Glögg and little chocolate cake/candy/cookie crossover thingies.
"Busy are people that do work that they do not like." Said by developer (if that can be said to be his main job) Greg Tuparev in MDN:s developer life podcast about him. Sort of something to aim for in life, isn't it? To have lots to do, but never feel busy. It sounds good to me, at least.
Back in November or so, I realized that what really makes me exercise less during winter in these parts is the fact that it eventually gets too dark to run outdoors after work. So I went ahead and put a headlamp on my wishlist, then out and bought one when it didn't appear under the tree. Tonight I tried it for the first time, and it worked out really well. Light on things up close was a bit weaker than I expected, but I think that's related to the light being pretty blue and thus not feeling as bright. It shone usefully for quite some distance, and it was fun to see road signs and reflectors light up in the way I used to connect only with car headlights. It was also easy to adjust the light and get used to it following your head movements, thanks to a solid hinge which stayed the way you bent it. I have a slight feeling of pressure around my head still, so maybe I should loosen the band a bit before next time, but it didn't disturb me at all while I was actually running.
I spent a toilet break typing up a little list of positive things I have been doing recently. It's one of those things which immediately pays off in wellbeing, making me realize that I do get some stuff done and giving me some more good ideas I could spend my time on (as opposed to being busy with, I guess).
The old USB hub is out and connected again. Plenty of ports, powered and works just fine, but it still isn't actually looking nice> sitting there on the desk.
Especially not with all those wringly
cables snaking all over the place to it ...
