Got to work on time as usual (realizing the likely cause of a bug in this site on the way), only to find out they'd changed all the PLU numbers for fruit while I was looking the other way. Gee thanks a lot ... However, as workmate Peter observed, once you've learned them all in three or four years you'll be able to work in any ICA store in Sweden because the new numbers are common to the whole chain. Next time I work the numbers for vegetables will likely have changed over as well, and my processing speed is likely to slow to a crawl for a few times until I begin to get the hang of the new numbers. Right now they seem to defy logic as well, I haven't been able to find any nice patterns except for numbers on KRAV-marked and "variation stuff" (like in tray of kiwis being a variation to kiwis), but the rest doesn't seem sensibly numbered at all right now. I've managed to memorize a grand total of one number so far, 4011 for bananas (and as a direct consequence 94011 for KRAV bananas), and that's it for now :-) ...
However, remembering bananas specifically helps a lot. If you have to choose one number bananas is probably it for fruit. For vegetables potatoes might be the first, but that's a later (and larger) problem :-) ...
