Okay, Aura (my iMac) is really acting fishy when it comes to wireless networking now. Downloads cancel, and even when things do work speeds are a tenth or less of what I get on Pomum, which is sitting, oh, about five centimeters away from Aura ... Ellen's mini also seems unconcerned, so I really think Aura's having problems rather than the actual wireless network now. After earlier problems I installed a developer preview of the next update to OS X, so I can hope that it's buggy and causing the problem.
That feels a bit better than starting to suspect hardware problems ...
Otherwise all is well in Fredrikland. It's been a sunny day and I ran for the first time since Göteborgsvarvet. I realized how odd a diagram for the two weeks around Varvet looked. Nothing for a week and a half, then poof 21 kilometers, then nothing again for another half week.
Adding to goodness, I realized On the rain-slick precipice of darkness, episode one (I don't know exactly when I started prefering Swedish capitalization rules, but now I sure do) was released today.
That download (and then another of the very latest OS X developer preview) was what switched me to Pomum. And now it's done, in minutes like it should always be, so I guess I'm hopping back to Aura soon for a trial run.
Mmm, sleek laptops are kind of nice even when they're getting old ...
Even more goodness: listening to enthusiastic and good speakers talking about physics and having a whole Sandman book lying unread just within reach.
Man, things are good.
So, Penny Arcade's game looks great, but the latest update didn't seem to do a whole damn lot for connection speeds. This is one for ... someone else.
