Yesterday I spent the afternoon and evening on washing. That, and Apocalypse Now Redux. A lot of film to take in, yet somehow I find that type of movie pretty easy to digest. It's still seeping through my mind, of course, and it's made me read up on both French colonial wars and method acting.

How much difference is there
really
between Apocalypse Now
and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?

Feverish journeys, different backgrounds.

Okay, there's a bit. Still ...

Aaanyway

I went for a run under slightly overcast skies, in air with a good hint of spring in it. Ended up running in light rain, the sun hiding just behind the edge of the clouds and a rainbow peering down from the opposite direction. And I felt light

before
during
and after

the lightness of feeling in shape, of feeling your body is up to the things you want it to do.

My watch was low on batteries so I didn't actually time myself. But I felt like I could and did push myself a bit now and then, and I feel like I've got a nice bit of wear in my legs.

I just had a big cup of milk. Straight from the fridge, plain and simple, just for drinking.

Not sure when that happened last time ...
