I've been feeling a bit fed up with restaurant lunches lately. Not that we can't get good food around work, we can, but sometimes I feel I become needlessly full and I often feel that I'm pointlessly wearing out the fun of eating out. Plus it does cost money I could use for other things.
A Macbook air is only about 233 lunches at Stäket ...
Anyway, after putting these thoughts into words during a phone chat with mom, I decided to make a bit of effort at bringing own, and perhaps somewhat lighter, lunch food again.
So I decided to do an Otto and stock up for a copule of bean and egg based lunches.

It seems Ellen doesn't need Last.fm. Somehow she manages to find actual radio stations playing only songs she likes. Now there's a cool superhero power.
A few days ago I. finally, went through my drawer full of reciepts.

Yes, that can be fun too. I discarded about 99% of them, working myself backwards and sideways in time all the way to the beginning of June 2005 when I arrived in Lund and began my until-recently current reciept collection. I've been a reflexive reciept collector and keeper for a few years now, entering my expenses into Excel and then throwing the paper trail into this drawer, mostly never to be looked at until the next cleaning time.

Now that the drawer is empty again I might get into a more discriminating mode, at least for a while. For the past few days I've actually thrown away my less-important reciepts after entering them into my economy sheet. Important things I'll keep of course, but I have a feeling I won't miss all the other ones very much.
That said, it is a kind of trip down memory lane to go through your purchases like this. Different supermarkets dominating various periods, seeing the possible start of my Ben & Jerry's period (November 2005 is the earliest trace I noticed), a lot more Bishop's Arms visits back then than now ...
I started reading Neil Gaiman's American gods yesterday. It's free to read online this month, and anything that motivates me to read an acclaimed book is good so I jumped at the motivation. I'm about halfway so far, and it's as wonderfully captivating as everything else the man writes.
Go read already! The external's right there, and it's not like anyone will write anything better while you're away.
Reminds me I still have a wonderful amount of Sandman left to devour ... Most of those should be less than a week's lunches out ...
