Oh my, my arms are tired. My left especially, rarely used sets of muscles feel weak and worn. Also, my thumb hurts from after I accidentaly hit it with a blunt object.
What I've been doing? Playing Wii games, of course. Wii Sports in particular, but also a decent dose of Rayman Raving Rabbids. I got the chance to try some Red Steel as well, but that left me unimpressed (although a little bit more positive than just reading reviews had made me) and unharmed.
One question I find myself with is: why didn't someone make this console year ago? Did someone do it, one way or the other, and failed? When you're there, bowling or playing a round of tennis, it all seems so completely obvious and simple. Sure, the remotes demand their share of wizardry, but past that there's nothing technically amazing about the games at all. Just pure and simple fun which anyone not only can pick up and play, but also actually wants to. And it makes me want to play with more people too. I'm seriously considering getting another two remotes soon so we can maximise the multiplayer fun as often as possible.
And getting more party games of course.
But one thing at a time.
Dad, Gustav and I also ran ten kilometers today, in wonderful autumn weather. It really makes a difference to run in a proper forest, and on nice, soft forest tracks. It's not all positive though, there were plenty of roots and rocks to dodge. I had a few close calls, but apart from that it was all good. Really good. Neither of us could remember when we last ran together. It could easily be closer to ten years ago, and we've never been this equal in fitness before. Our increasingly official goal is to run Göteborgsvarvet (a half marathon in Gothenburg) next year, and that's feeling pretty well within reach if we keep going like this.
