Christmas was unusually gadget-rich this year.
First and perhaps foremost, I got a Aeropress which I have been using and enjoying for most of my coffee needs. Making a cup takes just the right amount of time and has just the right amount of fiddliness.
And it comes out very nice each time, of course.
I am not sure yet which amounts of water and coffee I prefer - or which water temperatures or steeping times for that matter - but I am not sure it matters enough to me to find out when I already enjoy the results with such a minimal amount of work put in each time.
I might get a metal filter for it at some point. The package I got came with plenty of paper filters, but it is just a tiny bit annoying to be throwing away a filter for each and every cup when everything else except the coffee itself is so simple and reusable.
Probably takes quite a few paper filters to add up to the resources needed for a metal filter though …
The coffee advent calendar has brought me a lot more of darker roasts than I am used to, and the amount of coffee has produced about one more cup than I otherwise tend to drink.
