For the second summer of Russia's war on Ukraine, following the conflict is now truly the only remaining reason I use Twitter.
I recently stopped posting links from Kodsnack episodes on Twitter. That is a activity I want to move to Mastodon, but I have still not got around to it because I am unable to make up my mind about where and how I want to set up that account.
Other than that, I never do or look at anything anymore, and every time I drop by it feels less appealing. There clearly are still good people posting good things, for some reason, but all fears of missing out are completely gone by now, and it is simply a relief to no longer have any emotional ties to that particular sinking ship.
I bet I could replicate my Ukraine list on Mastodon, but I am not sure I want to. Once Russia is defeated, it will feel like a very appropriate end ceremony to also drop my last use of Twitter and let it burn up in the atmosphere as we speed toward a better future.
