Delays

The delivery was delayed, of course.

Whatever "delay" means. How, Postnord, can you have a "delay" which you do not manage to find out and tell me about until less than an hour remains of the late evening delivery window? Surely it was not a case of the delivery truck breaking down just as it was finishing its round?

I did get to see a new and nicely designed UI state in their app for delayed packages, where a stylized figure was sitting head in hand checking off dates on a calendar. And I did get notifications with apologies and a promise to notify me again when I can make a new delivery choice. (Why would I want to make a new choice? I just want you to get the package here as quickly as possible …)

The problem now is that I do not feel I can trust anything the app says anymore. Especially not right now, because the combined information says that the package was "On its way" half an hour before midnight yesterday, that it is on its way here, and that it will still be delivered in the given delivery window yesterday.

I half expect the next update to be that the package is being loaded on a plane for transport to Murmansk, but at this point it is probably better that I try to go on with my life, treating anything which happens to arrive at my front door as an unexpected gift from the universe.
