East of Easter

April 10, 2023

The Easter holidays are coming to an end, and I think I both needed and enjoyed them a great deal more than in a long time. Lots of time spent in the sun, doing nothing without hurry. Few if any shoulds bouncing around in my mind. And also plenty of good food and people, all with appropriate breaks for more solid nothing inbetween. I have even got some gaming done!

It will be nice to return to a more regular routine tomorrow, and to see if I can retain some of this feeling of being caught up a bit better than I have during the past few months.

Stay less hurried, if such a thing can be said (and done).

I finished up tomorrow's episode of Kodsnack today, complete with episode image which I am really happy with in many ways, including how fast I brought it from idea to finished. One of the tasks I do is to schedule two tweets during the week with tips of interesting links for the episode, as a fun little way to make the Kodsnack account more active, and to possibly make people discover the episode information we create for each episode. This of course brings up a question I have asked myself with increasing frequency lately: Why do I keep posting this on Twitter, and why nowhere else?

The answer to the first question is that it feels quite harmless, and a reasonable thing to do since the account still has a bunch of followers. The answer to the second question is that I have not managed to decide how and where I would like to post the tips. Mastodon would be the natural answer, but that train of thought immediately gets derailed by trying to decide which account to use, and where it would be "right" to create a official Kodsnack account. I should of course just create an account somewhere, and just move it the day we decide exactly which one the ideal instance is. It would be nice to have more Kodsnack on Mastodon.

Would it be reasonable to post the link tips in any other places? Linkedin?! (No, I will not go through the effort of putting them on Facebook, thank you very much.)

Speaking of Mastodon, I am still annoyed by rough edges on the Mac in all apps I use. But, a wild hope appeared! Toot made a post teasing their Mac version, complete with multiple windows. Toot has always been super solid for me, so I happily assume that the Mac version will be just the same once it arrives. And just like someone else who commented on the post, I almost hope that they give me a chance to pay again for the new version of the app. I am not even sure when I started using Toot, but it has been quite a few years now, and the icon and whimsy of the app still makes me happy every time.
