Check your head

One of the many benefits I get from running is that it often sorts out my thoughts. Not just "classics" like solving problems or coming up with random ideas, but also the very immediate question of what I want to do with my day. If I am feeling annoyed, restless or just can not decide what I want to do, a run will often shake my thoughts around until they fall down in a good order so that I can happily pick a thing to do when I get home. It works very well for choosing and sorting all the little shoulds and coulds of life.

Today after refilling the food stores I felt unsure of how to best spend my evening. I went for a nice run and the result was

nothing.

No shoulds. No coulds. Just a warm summer evening to relax myself through.

I think this means my holiday has been long enough.

Now, I think I will order a pizza.
