Christmas of 1996. I got Suede´s Coming Up for Christmas. I remember listening to it on Christmas Day, sitting in my room with a decently wintery landscape outside. Now it's already ten years (and a few days) later, but Brett and some of his friends still seem to be on a roll. Or back where they used to be. In this case I have nothing against the sound and style being similar, because it manages to evoke feelings and images for me this time too. It's snowing, it's Christmas and I've got a great-sounding record to listen to. What more can you ask for?

I've had a Christmas pretty white (and it's getting whiter while I write, newspapers promising snow chaos) and very nice. I haven't got around to seeing quite all the people I thought I might, but I've met up with a few others instead and I've managed to really relax as well.

Mmm, polished mobile entertainment. Buying a toy for yourself two days after Christmas Eve didn't feel at all wrong to me. I haven't got my ass kicked up and down the length of the internet yet (tried playing Mario Kart online that is), but I will as soon as I get back home. Lowering someone else's network security to play one game, most likely to suffer grueling defeats, seems a little bit on the dark side.
