The time has come to try out LiteStep on Windows XP. I got the LiteStep installer which did a great job of setting me up with a nice-looking theme and proper settings for everything. Being who I am, I made sure to install the shell switcher ShellON before anything else. Boot managers always feel handy :-) ...

There's plenty to set up to work just the way I want it. For one thing the multiple workspace settings don't really seem to cope all that well with a multi-monitor setup. And I've got a whole bunch of aliases to add to LSXCommand ... But things seem very familiar and just as exciting to mess around with as last time I looked. Perhaps even a bit more so since I've got a more stable Windows version running things now :-) ...

I am starting to experiment with creating my own skin. One little step at a time, so far they're mostly removing things I don't need :-) ... Eventually I'll create something that's much more my own thing than it is right now. I have some ideas for it already ...

I haven't figured out how to make XP accept ShellON as the default shell yet, but I've done some changes since I last rebooted, so the solution might already be here. I just don't like reboothing more than I have to, especially not when I can just quit explorer and start ShellON whenever I want to.
