Whew, that was one pretty full week. The first time I started this text, it was actually still that week, but continuing in its spirit the last bits of it rushed along with more things before I had a chance to capture it in progress.

There has been new sounds, a very quick visit to the capital, bathing and amusement parks and new people and parties and drinks and work and running and sushi and a whole lot of sun and heat.

And if I start expanding any one of those things I sense a high risk of never emerging on the other side, especially not with some kind of thread intact.

Cooking, right now, making a classic bean, lentils and chickpea-based sauce for the first time in shamefully long. I have been really good at just not happening to do any real cooking lately. Summer is often a bit like that, but when I started thinking about frying pans and stuff today I was surprised at how demanding the thought of cooking more than potatoes seemed.

Also, happy fourth of July to those celebrating. Seems to be a great holiday in all, and celebrated for a good reason too.

As a matter of fact, quite a few activities feel like surprisingly hard work at the moment. Food will most likely help …
