I did run today, just the way I wrote that I was thinking "semi-seriously" about in my last post.

Here's what I was thinking about: my two usual rounds are 8,5 and 12,1 kilometers in length. Göteborgsvarvet, which I will run in mid-May, is 21 kilometers, so quite a bit longer than my average run. Last year before my first göteborgsvarv I ran one 19-something kilometer round toward the end of March to at least hav a feel for that kind of distance. So I thought I'd do something similar this year.

So, I thought, twice my long round is easy to remember and also a nice bit longer than my target distance.

Now it's been both thought and done, and it went very well. I ran faster, more evenly paced and I'm feeling much less exhausted afterwards. The edge has now thoroughly been taken off the imposing feeling a half marathon used to invoke.

This round is quite a bit flatter than the actual Göteborgsvarv and the temperature was a lot lower than I expect it to be. That's why the extra kilometers are good, as a sort of mental offset to those two factors.

Now and the whole rest of the weekend it will be my intense pleasure to move about as little as I please and eat as much as I want of whatever I want.

And a good dose of Pet shop boys.

Are you gonna go to the Sodom and Gomorrah show?

Goosebumps, surprisingly.
