And again and again ...

I have done it before, I've just done it again and, as always, I think I may finally have solved it.

Yes, I've hacked on the RSS feeds and their validation once more.

The news feed now pulls straight from the actual pages changed (so I think I've just made the whole news table and system obsolete as well) and lists their entire contents, saving people from loading my actual page to read.

Character encodings may also finally be in order, but we won't know for sure until I put swedish character or something similarly nasty into the stream ...

I've also changed the actual names and types of the rss files. They're now known as news.rss and notes.rss. I've added redirects so that the old filenames automatically redirect to the new, so I guess uninterested people won't even notice. But if you are interested: it's nicer and philosophically purer to update your bookmarks to point to the new filenames.

There, now the old news system is all gone to the casual surfer. I still see bits and pieces of it here and there, but I can afford myself some sleep before dealing with that ...

This new system also has the somewhat entertaining side effect that recently edited pages jump to the top of the news. Do we want this or not? I'm uncertain ...
