Waiting for the rain to start

On creaky my wooden platform, suspended high in the air on a mountainside by concrete and steel. Listening, quite a lot. My ears empty I drifted, as so many times before, into more of Merlin Mann.

Much the same as always.

Before that, though, I had lunch with and said goodbye to a parent at the station. Then I headed home and was swept away by and into Extremely loud & incredibly close, to the point where I looked up and found myself halfway through less than three hours after leaving the train station.

The rain finally started

It was already dark when the little tap, tap, taps started on the window. I pulled the window as shut as needed, but no more and went to bed. Let myself be lulled to sleep by the rain cooling the air and bringing out all the scents.
